How to Add Music on Hold to a Virtual Phone Number

Music on Hold is the audio your callers hear while they wait to be connected to your phones. This can be music or a custom message. You can assign different hold music to each of your Talkroute phone numbers.

 

Adding Music on Hold


  1. Log in to the Talkroute control panel and navigate to the Manager section.

  2. Under the Virtual Phone Numbers section, click Edit next to the phone number you wish to change.

  3. Under What should we play while your callers are waiting, click the upload icon (to the right of the play button) to add a new audio file.

  4. A popup will appear where you can choose to Record an audio file by calling one of your forwarding phone numbers, or Upload an audio file from your device. For more details, see How to Add Audio Files.

  5. Once your audio file is ready, select it from the What should we play while your callers are waiting dropdown and click Save & Close.
