How to Add an Announcement Audio File to a Menu Option

Announcement audio files are special messages that play when a caller selects a menu option. These are commonly used for informational options like hours of operation, directions, or other pre-recorded messages.

 

Changing a Menu Option Message

  1. Log in to the Talkroute control panel and navigate to the Manager section.

  2. Under Call Menu, select the desired menu option and click Edit.

  3. Click the audio file dropdown under What audio file should we play? to select from existing audio files. If you need to upload or record a new file, click the upload icon next to the dropdown. For more details, see How to Add Audio Files.

  4. If uploading or recording, a popup will appear where you can choose to Upload or Record your new audio file.

  5. Once your audio file is ready, select it from the dropdown and click Save & Close.

Tip: If you want callers to be able to dial multi-digit extensions while this audio file is playing, click the + next to More Options and change Allow dialing of extensions during greeting? to Yes.
