No. Talkroute is a virtual phone system that works with your existing phones and devices—there's no special hardware required.
Talkroute forwards incoming calls to any phone that has its own active phone number, such as a cell phone, home phone, or office landline. For outgoing calls, you can use the Talkroute desktop or web app to call directly over the internet, or use the mobile app which places calls through your phone's cellular service using your Talkroute number as the outgoing caller ID.
Keep in mind that Talkroute does not provide dial tone service to physical desk phones. If you want calls forwarded to a desk phone, that phone will need its own 10-digit phone number from a separate carrier.
