Music on hold is the audio your callers hear while being connected to your team. This can be music, a custom message, or the default ringing tone. You can set different hold music for virtual phone numbers, menu options, and extensions.
Note: Before you can assign hold music, you'll need to upload or record an audio file. The preferred method is through the Talkroute desktop or web application. See How to Add Audio Files for instructions.
How to Change Music on Hold

Log in to your Talkroute account and navigate to the Manager section.

Click Edit on the item you want to change hold music for:
- A Virtual Phone Number
- A Call Menu option
- Or an Extension. -
In the "What should we play while your callers are waiting?" dropdown, select the audio file you want to use.

Click Save & Close to apply your changes.
Uploading Audio from the Control Panel
You can also upload or record a new audio file directly from the settings by clicking the upload icon next to the hold music dropdown. This opens a quick upload/record dialog without leaving the page.
