How to Change the After Hours Settings

Hours of Operation controls when your phone system is "open" or "closed." When your business is closed, callers can hear a custom audio message and be routed to a voicemail box, a call menu, or have the call disconnected.

 

How to Change Hours of Operation Settings

  1. Open the Talkroute desktop application or visit my.talkroute.com.

     

     

  2. Click the gear icon in the lower left corner to access Settings & Preferences.

     

     

  3. Navigate to Hours of Operation in the menu on the left.

     

     

  4. Click the gear icon next to the Add Time Slot button to access the Hours of Operation settings.

     

     

  5. From here you can configure the following options:

    -After Hours Audio File: The message callers hear when your business is closed. You can select an existing audio file or record/upload a new one directly from this screen.

    -After Hours Destination: Where callers are sent after the audio file plays—options include Go to a Voicemail Box, Go to a Menu, or Disconnect the Call.

    -Voicemail Box: If you select voicemail as the destination, choose which voicemail box should receive the messages.

    -Timezone: The timezone your time slots will follow.

     

     

  6. Click Save Changes to apply your settings.

     

     

 

Alternative Method (Control Panel)

You can also change Hours of Operation settings through the Talkroute control panel at cp.talkroute.com:

  1. Log in and navigate to Settings.
  2. Select the Hours of Operation tab.
  3. Look for the More Options area to access the after hours audio, destination, and timezone settings.
  4. Click Save when finished.
