If you wish to forward your existing number to Talkroute, you will need to contact the service provider for the existing number and setup the call forward on their end.
If you have already setup the call forward and calls are not being connected to your Talkroute phone system, this may be due to the existing service provider having built-in detection that immediately disconnects the call when attempting to forward it to another phone system.
For example, Google Voice is known to have such detection that will immediately disconnect the call if you attempt to forward a Google Voice number to Talkroute or any other phone system.
