Live Call Transfer lets you transfer an active call to another forwarding phone number, Desktop app user, Talkroute phone number, menu option, extension, or voicemail box. Transfers are initiated using 4-digit transfer codes and can be done from any phone—no app required.
Transfer Types
Blind Transfer: The caller is immediately connected to the destination after you hang up. Use this when you don't need to speak with the receiving party first.
Attended Transfer: You stay on the line to speak with the receiving party before completing the transfer. Use this when you need to brief the recipient about the call.
How to Transfer a Live Call

While on a live Talkroute call, press ## (pound, pound) to initiate the transfer.

You'll hear an audio prompt indicating the transfer is active. When you hear a dial tone, enter the 4-digit transfer code for your destination.

You'll hear "transfer complete, you may hang up."
For a blind transfer: Hang up. The caller will be connected to the destination.
For an attended transfer: Stay on the line to speak with the receiving party first. When you're ready, hang up to complete the transfer.
Tips
Press * (star) at any time during the transfer process to cancel and return to your call.

If you are using 3-digits for your extensions, only the 3 digits need to be entered for a transfer instead of 4 digits.
How to Find Your Transfer Codes

Open the Talkroute desktop application or visit my.talkroute.com.

Click the gear icon in the lower left corner to access Settings & Preferences.

Navigate to Transfer Codes in the menu on the left.

Your 4-digit transfer codes are listed for each menu option, virtual phone number, forwarding phone number, Desktop Device, extension, and voicemail box. Use the filter to view specific code types, or click the print button to print the list.

Alternative Method (Control Panel)
You can also view transfer codes through the Talkroute control panel at cp.talkroute.com:
- Log in and navigate to Settings.
- Select the Transfer Codes tab.
- Click "Printer Friendly View" to print your codes.
